At the end of April our Katikati Community Centre Youth Employment Coach, Melody Lamb hosted a Skateboard Demo and Best Trick Comp with the team from Drop Deep Skateboarding, at the Katikati Skateboard Park.
The event gave Melody the opportunity to engage with local youth in her role as Youth Employment Coach. “The level of community support and involvement of employers, social services and the participation of youth made the day a huge success," says Melody. "The event also highlighted the need for similar positive activities for our Katikati youth.”
