Katikati Community Centre offers a number of programes for the youth in our community from employment support, counselling, teen holiday programmes and support with obtaining a drivers license.

Employment Youth Coach

The youth employment coach role has been developed under the "Positive Pathways for Rangitahi" in partnership with Tamawhariua Health and Social Services and the Katikati Community Centre.

Here to support young peoples wellbeing and to guide them on a pathway to achieve their aspirations and success in education, training, and employment. This service is for 14-24 year olds.
  • We provide mentoring and coaching to support people find employment.
  • We support young people to identify their goals and develop a plan to achieve their ideal career.
  • We help to develop skills and confidence ( building strong CVs and interview techniques).
  • We offer the Licence to work" programme to ensure young people are work ready and can connect you to the latest local job opportunities.

Free Youth Counselling
We are so pleased to be able to help the young people in our community with funded youth counselling (criteria apply). Many youth are finding benefit from talking to someone confidentially and learning ways to help them manage.

Youth Holiday Programme Enrol now

free sports based holiday programme for Katikati youth aged 12+ years held in the Meads Gym at Katikati College. Get in quick as numbers are limited.

Also includes CV workshop for youth aged 14-24years.

April School Holidays Youth Programme runs Monday 19th - Friday 30th April.

Activities sport, Skateboard lessons, Skate Competition, CV Workhop, Trips and more.

Bluelight Youth Driver Navigation Programme

Bluelight is for all Katikati youth and is designed to help support young people to ultimately get their full drivers licence. To get more information please visit https://www.bluelight.co.nz/

Learner Licence

AA Licensing in Katikati bi-monthly 9.30am - 3.00pm. Sit your learners licence and no bookings required so get in early. For more information phone 549-0399. 2020 Dates: Wednesday 12th February, Wednesday 8th April, Wednesday 10 June, Wednesday 12 August, Wednesday 14 October & Wednesday 9 December.
